Clear your weekend, BC — the pros are here. The Carvana PPA Tour rolls into Delta, in Metro Vancouver, August 21–23 for the PPA Canada Vancouver 250, paired with a Junior 500 event presented by Luzz Pickleball. It’s a genuinely exciting stop for Canadian fans: a Challenger-level draw chasing World Pickleball Ranking points, plus a junior showcase that puts the country’s up-and-coming talent on the same marquee as the tour regulars. Having a pro event of this profile on the West Coast is a real moment for the domestic scene, and with the Tour’s new global ranking now folding every event onto one leaderboard, the results actually carry weight beyond the weekend.

The timing could hardly be better, because this is the front end of a blockbuster two-week stretch for Canadian pickleball. Right on the heels of Vancouver comes the big one on home soil: the 2026 Pickleball Canada National Championship, set for August 24–30 and hosted by Pickleplex across its Downsview and Vaughan locations in the Greater Toronto Area. Organizers are promising 21 indoor courts over seven days, with the full program of men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, plus Pickleball Canada’s Provincial Team Competition — always one of the most spirited parts of the week as provinces play for national bragging rights. Best of all for fans, spectator entry is free, so if you’re near the GTA next week, it’s an easy and worthwhile day out.

There’s league news brewing too. The Canadian National Pickleball League’s fourth season — branded C4 — has its playoff picture coming into focus after recent splits, with Toronto United and the Grand River Rapids among the teams that have secured their spots. The season builds toward Championship Weekend on September 25–27 at The Club at Northfield in Waterloo, co-hosted by the Rapids, and the international flavour of this year’s rosters has raised the level of play across the league. If you’ve lost the thread over the summer, now’s a great time to check back in as seeding battles heat up.

Step back and the momentum is obvious. A 2026 survey estimated roughly 1.80 million Canadians are now playing pickleball, and weekends like this one — a pro stop out west, Nationals looming in the east, and a league season charging toward its finish — are exactly what that growth looks like in practice. The recreational base has gotten deep enough to support elite events coast to coast, and the calendar is finally reflecting it.

So enjoy the weekend. Tune into the action in Delta, keep an eye on the junior draw for names you’ll want to remember, and start planning your trip to Nationals. We’ll be back next week with what came out of BC and a full look at the National Championship as it gets underway.
